Red Bull Indianapolis GP

The highly respected Indianapolis Motor Speedway® had a need for a strategic and targeted mobile marketing campaign to promote and create awareness of the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP. Working together, ChaCha and The Indianapolis Motor Speedway created a unique and conversational relationship between the Speedway and MotoGP fans.

The Goal: Increase awareness of the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP, create an interactive experience engaging MotoGp and Indianapolis Motor Speedway fans and increase ticket sales for this inaugural event.

The Solution: Campaign one used mobile advertising (with no incentive) on all questions based within a 250-mile radius of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and campaign two used Mobile advertising (with an incentive contest) on all questions based within a 250-mile radius of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Results: Approximately 5% of the users responded to the mobile ads, compared to an industry average of 1–2%. The ads driving users to register for the contest via a Web site had a significantly higher response rate than those driving users to register via the phone. Overall awareness of ticket sales also increased.
